About this object

Peter Merry came to New Zealand to work on the Roxburgh Hydro Dam in 1953. He was trained in Oxford, England and created a wooden tool chest as part of his apprenticeship in which he brought his carpentry tools to his new position in Roxburgh. He was joined on this journey to the other side of the world by his wife, Blanch.
