This is a wooden hinged box containing items relating to sewing and has a mother of pearl inlay in the lid showing that this belongs to Janet Browlie and dated 1854. The sewing kit was donated to the museum in 1975 by her granddaughter Mrs D Riach of Roxburgh, Central Otago, New Zealand.
