About this object

This is a Bell Colt radio, which was manufactured in New Zealand and was New Zealand's best selling radio from 1951 to 1971. Th Bell Colt was first used in Australian 'Airzone' radios and was available in six colours. It came in both a plastic and oak cabinet style, with a wooden cabinet radiogram version also produced. Although modestly priced, the set was made from good quality components. A transistorised version was produced until 1980.
