About this object

A length of wood that is square on three sides and the top side is rounded. This length fits inside a larger block that acts as a fence. The fence is adjusted with a wooden locking screw. A piece of metal is wedged into one end of the length with just the tip protruding through the wood. This has been sharpened to a point. This tool is used to mark wood along the grain.
