Brown F & L 1940 steel combat helmet with inner liner. This helmet design replaced that developed by John Leopold Brodie, the Model 1915 “Brodie” helmet, also known as the “Tommy” helmet, which was the first steel helmet introduced to British soldiers during WW1. This British Combat helmet was manufactured by Fisher & Ludlow Ltd at the beginning of WWII.
