About this object

Measuring rod made of Australian hardwood with metal ferule at bottom of the rod. Minor splits are visible at the top end. Identified by stamped lettering "Wishart Garage Cromwell" and "Texaco Motor Spirit" It was recovered from the well known local workshop where it was used to gauge the volume of fuel in tanks (0-550)
