About this object

White linen, oval tray cloth, with wide white crocheted lace scalloped edging. The edging lace is in the shape of joined medallions. Smaller oval of lace is in the centre of the cloth, with a larger medallion at each end of this oval.

Made by Doug Stout's grandmother in the Shetland Isles of Scotland. Doug Stout (STOUT, Rev Laurence Douglas, 1932-1995) was the the Presbyterian minister in Cromwell in the 1970's.
