About this object

Pair of varnished wooden canisters with wooden lids, possibly hand turned, with small square pieces of paua inset about half way up. The lid has a knob handle plugged into it. Some pieces of the paua have come off but are sitting inside the barrels. The bases are separate pieces of wood glued on. The wood is cracked in places. One is slightly taller and thinner than the other.
