Black marble clock
About this objectBlack marble mantel clock which has been repaired (3 pieces on the top have be re-glued to the platform). Black with gold decoration, the front is decorated with gold painted scrolls and patterns and is inset with the clock face, 4 pillars (2 on either side) appear to support the top shelf. There is a bas relief scene on the front of the centre rectangular hollow block above the clock face, which seems to be on metal attached to the block. Triangular solid block shapes are placed on either side. A circular sheet brass inspection door at rear, reveals the mechanism, which is inscribed "Made in France" "618". On the top right hand corner of frame is etched "138- 512g". The key has been placed inside a plastic bag, inside the mechanism.
