Gold scales; Oval tin box with hinged lid; brass beam and pans with cord suspension (some cords not attached); set of 3 brass cup weights 1/2, 1 and 2 oz Troy; round brass 1/2 oz Troy weight; 2 sets of rectangular penny weights, 6, 5 and 4 pw and 5, 4 and 3 pw; rectangular brass weight inscribed with "12"; 2-lens brass-framed magnifying glass.

Inscription and Marks

Paper label inside tin lid, very worn and mostly illegible. "GOLD SCALES" visible on lower left of label.
c1 has "2 OZ TROY" stamped around top rim. c2 has "1 OZ" stamped on top rim; d has "TROY" and "1/2" stamped on top face; e1,2 and 3 are marked "STANDARD" and "W.& T.A." with a lion over a crown between and 2 shield like marks on either side. On the reverse side they are marked "SIX PENNY WEIGHT", "FIVE PENNY WEIGHT" and "FOUR PENNY WEIGHT" respectively; f1, 2 and 3 have a lion makers mark and 5, 4 and 3 circles respectively; g has "12" marked on one side.
