About this objectShop scales used at Nevis Store, Bannockburn for many years by Johnny Williams and predecessors. The scales have a round brass face with measurement graduations from 0 to 20 pounds. "No. 80T SALTER'S TRADE SPRING BALANCE BRITISH MADE"; A metal ring is at the top of the scales and a 120 mm hook is attached to the bottom with a metal pointer indicating the weight. The tray is a round metal dish with three chains, diameter 255 mm. Note at the bottom of brass face "FOR USE BY ITINERANT VENDORS ONLY 22375. Has a Salter trademark, showing a Staffordshire knot pierced by an arrow.
