About this object

Model of the bucket dredge, the Rising Sun, which was operating in the Lowburn area of the Clutha river from approximately 1902 to 1923.
The original dredge was built by Mr F.W.Payne. This model was built by Malcolm H Taylor in 2012 and is displayed on a stand with a perspex cover. Labels giving information about the dredge are inside the cover as is a share certificate for shares in the company.
