About this object

Antique, triangular shaped porcelain Bonn covered cheese dish by Franz Anton Mehlem, Germany. The cheese dish is off white with a red, rust and gray coloured floral and leaf pattern. The bottom of the dish has a raised ridge and a half of a monogram with logo and only the words "FRANZ AN" visible. There is a stamp under the glaze with 90, Rd 21) 152907 (7 and the word "Marn" or "Karn". The top of the dish has a ridged pattern around the outside. The lid has a handle on the top; ridging pattern on outer edge; and three holes in the centre. Inside the lid is written J 2556 38 and the same stamp as on base.
