About this object

A 128 page soft cover book with several black and white photographs and drawings telling the tales of the gold rush days, goldfields life and its many characters. These stories of the old goldfields tell of the characters and incidents of the great gold rushes last century. Interwoven with these tales is information about the miners' lives and the different ways that gold was recovered using simple tools like pick and gold pan or with more complex machinery, sluices, gold dredges and mining underground.
