A 28 page booklet including many black and white photographs travelling on the Butter and Egg Road which derives its name from this being the most convenient route by which the pioneering womenfolk of Moonlight carried their butter, eggs and other saleable produce to market.The township of Macraes got its name from a boundary rider John McRae who settled in the town with his wife and young family. There is mining today at Macraes Flat which is currently the largest producer of gold in New Zealand.Medium and Materials
