About this object

This elegant American coffee percolator was produced by Landers, Frary & Clark Co. under the brand name Universal in the early 1900's. Rather than earlier models that sat on top of a stove to heat the water this model incorporated a spirit burner located beneath, allowing it to be used in any part of the house.
