This truck was originally a 6x6 but GT Gillies Ltd converted some of these to 4x4, and this was bought as a 4x4 by Shaws Motors Ltd of Arrowtown in August 1951. Originally they used it as a tip truck before converting it to a wrecker. Bill bought it from them in October 2001.
