This tractor was used at a demonstration ploughing match at Drummond in 1929. Robert Robertson was there that day, saw it working and subsequently purchased it. He used it on his farm at Fairfax, and also used it for contracting in the district. In 1952 he sold the farm and moved to Invercargill. Just prior to this he fitted new rings and exhaust valves and the tractor moved to his brother's property at Makarewa, where it spent the next 50 years. It was used occasionally in the early days but then it just sat in the shed. In 1977 on his death, ownership passed to his sons Bill and Stewart Roberston. Both Robert and his son Stewart worked for the Richardson Family, Stewart for around 46 years. Bill Richardson bought it off them around 2003. The restoration was carried out by Goughs’ Neil Hall and Norm Butler and was progressing when Bill passed away in March 2005. Restoration was completed and it arrived at the museum in December 2005.
