About this object

A hand coloured, black and white studio photograph of Agnes Clyne (Nessie) Taylor and her older sister Elizabeth (Bessie) Taylor taken in c.1917. Nessie is seated holding a spray of red flowers, while Bessie is standing, wearing a blue ribbon in her hair to match the blue belt around the waist of her white dress.

The Taylor Family farmed in the Tuturau District on the Mataura-Wyndham Road from c.1882 to c.1930. The girls' parents were John Taylor and Fanny Taylor (nee Shanks). Agnes Taylor was born on 27 February 1915, and she married Robert (Bob) Stewart. They did not have any children. Agnes died on 25 June 1998 and is buried in the Gore Cemetery. We would like to know more about Elizabeth (Bessie) Taylor.
