Undated black and white photograph of Bridge Square, Mataura (intersection of Bridge and Kana Streets). Five people are standing along Kana Street.
The wooden building in the foreground was Mataura's first (dedicated) Post Office from 1872 to 1877 which was later used as a dwelling.
The brick building on the corner is John MacGibbon and Sons Limited, General Merchants (built c.1900).
The third and largest building is the Bridge Hotel (built 1872).
