About this object

A black and white photograph depicting a group of Mataura Rabbit Factory employees posing in front of their rabbit packing depot. One man is standing on a horse-hitched wagon, with a display of rabbit pelts decorating the crate sitting on the wagon. On top of the crate flags are flying and greenery has been wound around the crate for a decorative effect. The flags show both the Union Jack and an early New Zealand design. Men and some boys are standing around the wagon, one of which is holding a dead rabbit.
