About this objectA black and white photograph of the Mataura Paper Mill and the Mataura River taken from the opposite bank. Centred in the picture is the new boiler house and brick chimney. Stacks of paper pulp are piled up on its left running alongside a man-made stone stop-bank beside the river. Also seen are the No. 2 and 4 Mills, and on the far right is the Hydro Power Station. The bottom of the photograph shows part of the man-made water race feeding the Mataura Freezing Works.
