Photograph [Albert Robson Shooting Hawks]
About this object
A scan of a black and white photograph taken in 1931 of Albert Robson after successful harrier hawk shoot.
Albert grew up on a farm called Bolton Hill near Staindrop in County Durham, England. He steamed to NZ in 1926/1927 on the T.S.S. Tamaroa and secured a job as a teamster on W.T Wright's farm at Te Tipua called Arola Downs. Albert worked there from 1927 to 1933 before returning to England.
Albert kept a body of photos recording his time in New Zealand especially from his time in Southland and his niece Joan Smedley kindly gifted us a digital copy of this image.
