About this object

Telegram; dated December 1942 from Clara Quilter to her husband Thomas wishing him a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Clara has signed off the telegram using a pet name 'Little Southern'. This was the third Christmas that they had spent apart during World War Two. In November 1942 Thomas was deployed to bomb disposal duties in Algeria as part of Operation Torch with the Royal Engineers. Thomas died on 20 February 1943.
