About this object

Garters, a pair of men's elasticised blue garters with rubber suspenders and metal fasteners. They were owned and worn by Bruce Sutherland who was manager of the United Trading Company in Bridge Street Mataura for many years. Bruce Sutherland was also a noted local athlete from Mataura, and a professional runner, as was his brother, Babe.
