Photograph; 7 of 16 from an album of black and white photographs taken in the 1920s and 1930s showing various aspects of the Mataura Paper Mill. This photograph was taken between 1924 and 1926 and shows the No 4 Mill's Stock Preparation. The label reads:
'The wood pulp was first broken up in revolving digesters. Then shovelled into the revolving Koller-Gang trays where it was ground by the revolving stone wheels until ready for further treatment in the beaters. The personnel in the photo are, left at front, Bill McGowan, above and behind Bill is Mick Coates. To the right of Bill is Ken Christiansen, far right is Jack McGillivray. About 1924-26'
