Photograph [Private Archibald Angus McGillivray]
About this objectA framed, hand coloured photograph of Private Archibald Angus McGillivray in his NZEF, World War One uniform. Pulmonary tuberculosis did what the war couldn't; Archie McGillivray died of TB, aged 28 on 20 February 1924. His army records indicate that his 'death was due to his war service'. Archie is buried in the Mataura cemetery. We also have a photograph of Archie's medals, one of which is a fob presented to him by the residents of Block VII, Mataura on his return from the War.
