About this objectA hand coloured print of a painting commissioned by Queen Victoria in 1846, depicting her with Prince Albert and five of their children. Held in a large gilded frame.
Medium and MaterialsThe print is on a heavy paper with the image having been printed onto the paper and coloured paints used to add the detail. The Lithograph was completed by Alphonse Leon Noel. There is no confirmation where the large gilded frame came from.

Subject and Association DescriptionThe lithograph was displayed at Rangiaowhia prior to the Waikato Wars, after being gifted to two Maori businessmen who ran a flour mill near the settlement.
