Name/Title

[Cars parked on Caroline Bay]

About this object

Cars parked on Caroline Bay at Carnival time, in the late 1930s or early 1940s. Taken from the Benvenue Cliffs looking southward.

The crowds attracted to Caroline Bay for the carnival brought with them a need for carparking. As a result cars were often parked on the grass at the edge of the beach between the sand and the tennis courts and around the childrens' playground, visible on the sand.
