About this object
An "Arthur A Ware Series" used postcard titled "Band Playing in Rotunda, Caroline Bay, Timaru, N.Z.", 1908.
Depicts the view looking north over the Bay at a large crowd mainly centred around the Band Rotunda, with others on the terraces and lawns and along the fences. There is a rustic wooden fence on either side of steps that lead down to the path to the rotunda. The long building on the sands further down the bay is the fixed bathing sheds.and on the skyline Evans Street and to the right of this Canterbury Alpine Dairy Company can be seen.
The reverse bears the message "I have not been boxing up spuds lately as I am too Busy with other things & at the Present Price they are not worth growing a Big shipment the other day [he asked?] 1/- Per Bag as Oamaru & one big holder ordered his men to tip his over the cliff into the sea would like to see how [Stan?]"
