About this object

A large wooden camphor chest used as a seamans chest by Ivan Summers. The chest contains various boatbuilding tools including rope, a collection of copper/bronze/galvanised nails used in ships chandlery, a wooden block, a towing eye possibly used for towing kauri logs, and a section of canvas cloth.
