About this object

Hand-crafted rolling pin made for Mrs. H.J.C.King when she married in March 1909 and was used in her first kitchen in the bush village of Puketi, west of Kerikeri. Instead of being made of one piece as is usual, it rolls on a spindle handle, which was broken and replaced later.
