The Nelson Provincial Museum
The museum exhibits, cares for and stores an extensive and varied regional collection. Objects include those collected since the 1840’s to the present day.
The Museum: Town Acre 445, Nelson
The Lower Gallery exhibition focuses on the region’s fascinating collections, history and identity, an exploration of Te Tau Ihu, Top of the South Island, from Tasman Bay to Golden Bay. The Upper Gallery features changing exhibitions that include collection based exhibitions.
Research Facility: Isel Park, Stoke
Regional collections, including one of New Zealand’s most significant photographic collections are developed and cared for at the Research Facility. Extensive historical archives and library resources are also housed here and are available for research.

THE MUSEUM: Town Acre 445, Nelson 10:00am - 5:00pm weekdays 10:00am - 4:30pm weekends RESEARCH FACILITY: Isel Park, Stoke 12.30pm to 4.30pm Tuesday to Friday, by appointment.
THE MUSEUM: Town Acre 445, Nelson Admission to regional history gallery is free for Nelson Tasman ratepayers. Visitng adults $7, children $3, families $20max. Admission charges may apply to temporary exhibitions. RESEARCH FACILITY: Isel Park, Stoke Admission donations are appreciated. Research and reproduction fees may apply.
