Photograph, Biggar's Horses at Niagara Water TroughAbout this object
This photograph is of the Biggar family's horses at the Niagara water trough. The horses are on their way to the peace day celebrations to mark the end of World War One at Curio Bay.
About the Water Trough:
Prior to decent roads and the affordability of cars in the district, residents travelled by horse, boat or trains where possible. The water trough at Niagara was positioned in a central location, where horse riders knew they could water their horses on their travels.
