About this object

The Lamson rapid transit system used a tight wire to allow a two wheel container to travel along the wire. A pull rope stretched the rubber cord and once triggered the container was propelled along the horizontal wire. It was used to send cash and purchase details to the central office where the change was provided and sent back to the sales person for the customer.
