Book; entitled 'The Book of Common Prayer and Administration of the Sacraments and Other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church...' [commonly known as the Book of Common Prayer]. A hard-bound book with a black and leather binding with gilt detail, and a brass clasp. Inscribed to A Atkinson on the fly leaf. Published by Thomas Nelson and Sons in London in 1863.
A Atkinson could refer to either Amelia Jane Atkinson, Harry Atkinson's first wife, or Annie Atkinson, Harry's second wife. Harry Atkinson was the builder and first inhabitant of Hurwoth Cottage. Following Amelia's sudden death in June 1865, he married his cousin, Annie, in June 1866.
