Photograph [Kerr Taylor sisters]
About this object
Photographic postcard; of four woman sitting in an open-topped early car. Identifiable are Mildred Kerr Taylor, in the back seat on the right, and Muriel Kerr Taylor in the passenger seat. The photograph has postcard markings.
The family first purchased a car in the mid-1920s. Muriel Kerr Taylor was usually the driver, although her sister Winifred had once got a driving licence. This was not only because she was younger, but also because she was tall enough to see over the steering wheel of early cars. The aunts would use the car to drive up weekly to deliver bags of meat, vegetables, and magazines to family at Waimauku.
