Book, 'Scriptural Studies'About this object
This hardbound book entitled ‘Scriptural Studies’ belonged to Mildred Kerr Taylor when she was eight years old. She has written "Milly Taylor, Oct 29th, 1877" on the front cover.
The Kerr Taylor family were devout Anglicans and attended both morning and evening services at St. Luke’s Church in Mount Albert, Auckland, every Sunday. All of the Kerr Taylor children attended Sunday School where their mother, Sophia, taught for 46 years. It is likely that Mildred used this book to study for her Sunday school lessons. Mildred and her older sister Winifred also taught at Sunday school when their mother retired in 1920. (1)
