Framed print, Memorial to the Stewardesses of the Wairarapa shipwreck

About this object

A framed black and white print commemorating the work of the Stewardesses of the ship 'Wairarapa'. The main image is of the wreck itself, with insets of three Stewardesses - Miss MacQuaid, Mrs McDonald (Chief Stewardess) and Miss Grinrod - and an inset of the memorial erected for the women in Dunedin. A small plaque on the frame notes this was donated by Mrs C. Williams of Otautau in 1960.
