About this objectA hand coloured portrait of Catherine Beer, née Catherine Peters, who married Josiah Henry Herbert Beer, in May of 1861. In December 1861, along with their daughter Carla, the Beer's arrived in Port Chalmers aboard the 'Chile' and shortly after arriving left for Jacobs River. Catherine and Josiah had a family of 11 children, consisting of three daughters and eight sons before she passed away in 1912.
