Tim ; Henry Christian Slane; nd; 2014.004
For Henry Christian Slane, "exhibition work is primarily seen as a way to share my investigation of chosen themes and methodologies as derived from practice based research." Slane is the youngest winner of the New Zealand Portrait Gallery's Adam Portrait Award. This painting of his cousin, Tim, won the 23-year-old artist the prestigious prize in 2004. The piece was done when he was still living at home in Auckland, commissioned by his grandfather to help him fund a ticket to travel to Britain.
