The team photo of the 1952-53 Otago side that met Canterbury in a Plunket Shield match at Lancaster Park on 25, 26, 27, 29 December 1952. The members of the team are standing in front of the Lancaster Park scoreboard which features the scores from the Otago first innings.

Otago won the match by an innings and 93 runs after Bert Sutcliffe scored, a record, 385 in Otago's first innings. Sutcliffe's 385 remained a world record score by a left-handed batsman until 1994, when Brian Lara surpassed it by scoring 501.

Otago went on to win the Plunket Shield that season, with 3 wins and 1 loss during the season.
