Canned Foods, Cargill Brand Oysters
About this objectThe canning of oysters extended the viability of the product so that it could be stored for longer and shipped to markets further afield. Oysters are unusual in the fishing industry as they are normally harvested and sold numerically but when they were canned they were sold by weight.
