About this objectThis is a photograph of the officers and crew of the original 'Awarua' Paddle Steamer Tug boat with their sea dog. The 'Awarua' was a tug, pilot ship and salvage tug in Bluff Harbour from 1885-1900. In the centre of the photograph with his arms folded is Captain Norman MacDonald, who was Chief Pilot and Harbour-Master under the Bluff Harbour Board at the time.
