About this object

Brown figured silk satin

A lovely example of the ubiquitous bias-cut dress of the 1930's - This dress features 'Leg of Mutton' sleeves and a cowl neckline. The bias-cut skirt flares to the hem from slim waist and hips. There is a gilt metal leaf-shaped clip at each side of the cowl at the neck edge and a gilt metal filigree clasp buckle attached to the belt. This is worn with a brown taffeta petticoat.
