About this object

Stone Maori axe – grey stone, rectangular in shape with rounded ends. Has a textured handle area with blade being smooth. There is a chip out of the blade edge. The stone has a long flaw, running from the blade edge to half way up the axe. The flaw is whiter than the rest of the stone, and on the corresponding other side is a red line.
