Waimate Spring Festival
About this objectThe Waimate Spring Festival during the 1970s and early 1980s took place in October. Over ten days events included the Spring Shears, a trade fair, cabaret ball, youth dance, competitions and quizzes, festival princesses and the festival procession. In 1970-71 up to $6000 was raised and donated to the Stadium for amenities. In 1979 four festival princesses raised $8,827 for local charities.
