Taihape and District Museum and Historical Society

The museum building is the original Methodist church built in 1911. Most of the collections relate to the history and development of Taihape and surrounding districts, with a particular emphasis on the industries that brought people to the area. Particular attractions include replicas of Taihape's first store and early blacksmith's shop built with pit sawn timber.
The museum is also building up a collection of histories of local families and businesses.
