A 'Holy Man'

About this object

Growing tobacco produced many innovative devices to aid in planting both seeds and seedlings. This piece of equipment was used to create holes in the soil for planting out tobacco seedlings, giving a uniform depth and space. By pressing down on the top bar the "teeth" would go into the soil, thus creating the holes.
