Jar, Vicks VapoRub; Richardson-Vicks, Inc.; 1930?; WY.0000.331

Name/Title

Jar, Vicks VapoRub

About this object

This is a small cobalt blue glass jar with a threaded top, although the top is now missing. Underneath the jar is a double triangle symbol, and from this we know that this jar contained Vicks VapoRub salve as the triangles were a registered trademark. The Vicks brand name is often used synonymously with the VapoRub product, which was first made in 1905.

This bottle is part of a large collection of chemist's equipment which came from the old Wyndham pharmacy in Balaclava Street. This was the United Friendly Society Dispensary, known as the UFS.
